Shlomo Katz Esq.

Shlomo D. Katz Esq. is Counsel in the Washington, D.C., office of the international law firm of Brown Rudnick LLP, where he practices wage and hour law, and commercial and government procurement law and litigation.

Mr. Katz’s government contracts experience includes advising U.S. government and state and local contractors on compliance with their contract terms and applicable laws and regulations. It also includes representing successful and unsuccessful bidders in debriefings and bid protests, and assisting contractors in preparing, negotiating and litigating contract claims for changes, delays, accelerations and terminations. Mr. Katz also represents contractors in Government investigations.

Mr. Katz’s wage and hour experience includes advising employers, especially government contractors, on compliance with the minimum wage, working time, and overtime requirements of the FLSA; advising contractors on compliance with the prevailing wage and fringe benefit requirements of the Service Contract Act and Davis-Bacon Act; and defending employers in litigation and DOL investigations under the above laws, as well as the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act.

Mr. Katz has successfully litigated before federal, state, and local courts and administrative tribunals. He is the author of the Government Contractor’s Guide to Employment Law Compliance and other wage & hour treatises published by Thompson Information Services.
