Getting Started with the SCA:
A Concise Introduction to the Service Contract Act

If you have service contracts awarded by the federal government or the District of Columbia, you have to follow the Service Contract Act – penalties for noncompliance can range from back pay, to contract termination, to debarment. Do not let that happen to you!

In this 90-minute webinar, federal contract and employment law expert Shlomo Katz will outline the basics of SCA compliance: from which workers are covered, to determining required wages and fringe benefits, to the different roles for the contracting agency, the Department of Labor and the Employer.

Attendees who complete this webinar will:

  • Understand what wages and fringe benefits the SCA requires;
  • Learn how to determine what their obligations are under the SCA;
  • Understand which workers are covered by the SCA;
  • Explore the different roles for the contracting agency, the Department of Labor, the employer, and the union (if any);
  • Learn about the penalties for non-compliance;
  • And more!

SCA Applicability, Conformances, Price Adjustments, and Investigations

There is much more to SCA compliance than just the basics! Join Shlomo Katz for an advanced 90-minute webinar covering conformances, advanced SCA applicability, DOL investigations, and price adjustments.

This webinar builds on concepts presented in the previous webinar by exploring how the SCA can affect contractor lifecycle issues. What do you do when a worker’s job classification does not match one of DOL’s standard job classifications? When is a contract that includes services exempt from the SCA? What are the best practices for handling a DOL investigation? How can you use Price Adjustments to give your employees a raise at the government’s expense?

Attendees who complete this webinar will:

  • Understand SCA conformances;
  • Learn when a contract that includes services is not a service contract;
  • Explore best practices for dealing with a DOL investigation;
  • Learn what contractors can recover under the SCA Price Adjustment Clause;
  • And more!

Learn how to keep SCA clauses out of your contract if they do not belong, or even give your employees a raise at the government’s expense!
