For government contractors, complying with the Affordable Care Act isn’t so easy. That’s because prevailing-wage laws also come into play.

The majority of prevailing-wage employers don’t build extra funds into the contract to pay medical benefits or know how to use Health & Welfare Funds to best advantage. What about secondary payer laws for Tricare and Medicare? And what will change with repeal of ACA’s individual mandate?

These and other issues create serious pitfalls for employers—and ignorance is no protection against fines or work stoppages. With the U.S. government hiring hundreds more auditors, this is no time for guesswork.
